Today is a sad day at the Peace Corps Training Center.
Last night, our Safety and Security trainer Lamine was killed in a car accident. He left behind a wife, five children, and dreams of one day working for the United Nations. Classes have been suspended for the day and a memorial service planned for this evening.
We will miss Lamine and keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

hey big guy. very sorry to hear about your loss. hang in there, emotional strain is hard away from home. i am however THRILLED to hear that you are living with tons and tons of people who just have decided to rename you. i like their audacity. and i like you as a bouba. glad to hear you are well. you are very missed. sorry you are there during ramadan...fastings not so cool. what is cool though is that they have no differentiation between "my" and "our". that is fascinating. and very smart. wish our language had been that smart.
i miss you, love you, and can't wait to hear more! i'll write you soon fancy pants.
love molly!
Andy boo, what does Boubacar mean? You know Bouba is the name of a famous french rap group? Im sorry for your loss, that was your language teacher, right? It sounds like an amazing experience. Im sure you're wishing you had some canned ratatouille to eat. I almost fainted when I read "get the heck outta Dodge" NO one but my dad says that (hes from Omaha/Des Moines). I miss you and cant wait to read more about your adventures. Have an amazing time at the beach house!!!!!!!
if i was there with you id hold your hand. im very sorry. ps. im too cheap to buy envelopes so youll be getting your letter as soon as i get the envelopes my mom is sending me from home.
love, katie
Hi Andy, I am sorry to hear about your teacher. Who is going to teach you now? So, what are women's rights like there? What do people wear? What do you wear? Are the bugs bad? I am sending you beef jerky in a brightly colored envelope so hopefully it won't get lost. Wear sunscreen at the beach!
